My tale of two Mikes September 21 2014 1 Comment

"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light..." (A Tale of Two Cities, Charles Dickens)

Mike & Mike don’t even know each other but they share a bond in my mind.

Mike # 1 owns Fantasy in Glass, on the Queensway in Toronto. During two courses I took there, I had the best time learning about fusing glass, the worst time struggling to make it work. Mike shared his knowledge, generously and often, turning my foolishness into belief.

Fantasy in Glass offers classes in both fused and stained glass. Surrounded by bountiful supplies and supported by Mike’s wisdom and skill, my personal incredulity turned into a season of light.

Mike #2 owns Mikreations Art and Frame Gallery in Niagara-on-the-Lake. His belief in my work, both glass products and paintings, has been inspiring. I have worked with other galleries, but Mike has easily been the most accommodating.

Mikreations has beautiful art - paintings, glass, pottery, jewelry, creative framing services and lots of other surprises – a permanent “Season of Light” on Stone Road in Virgil.

My heartfelt thanks go to Mike & Mike. I supplied the foolishness and incredulity; they supplied the wisdom and belief. I’m hoping the result is a brighter season of light.
