Just breathe it in June 21 2015
When you live in a house in the city, chances are you have no satisfying view of anything. I frequently comment that I would like to have a view of something – a parade, a park, fireworks, water, the skyline. Yet for most of us in Toronto, such views are available only in a condo, a move I’m not yet ready to make.
So I create my views in my imagination. And in my mind’s eye, I am often in New Brunswick, immersed in scenes of water, sky, cliffs, hills, and fields. My favourite is mist on the cliffs. Stunning. Each summer I breathe in deeply and try to store up the sights and sensations, for winter in the city.
My "Misty mountain" sushi plate is reminiscent of my favourite view. Just breathe it in.
