I miss my enchanted forest December 13 2015
Like all kids, I played and dreamed in my versions of enchanted forests. I had a real woods to play in, but fields overgrown with tall grass, rock formations, tent trailers or even the blanket-draped dining room table all served as enchanted forests at one time or another.
Wikipedia comments that enchanted forests are found in the oldest folklore from regions where forests are common, and occur throughout the centuries to modern works of fantasy. They represent places unknown to the characters . . . places of threatening danger, or one of refuge, or a chance at adventure.”
Imagined danger, possible adventure and moments of refuge evoke wistful memories of youthful enchantments. I miss my enchanted forests.
