Here and now January 24 2016 2 Comments

January marks the beginning of a journey for me, a journey that I hope leads to reduced stress in life.

While questioning how that might be achieved, I read something Mark Twain said:

“I’ve lived through some terrible things in my life, some of which actually happened.”

That was an eye-opening moment.

Living in fear of what might happen next leaves my body, mind and heart reacting as though it actually did happen.

Living in the past or future robs me of the moments that are meant to be experienced right now.

There is much to be thankful for, laugh about, and share with loved ones. There is beauty to behold, sounds to enchant and sights to enthral. The present is packed with moments worthy of my full attention, free of judgement.

It is impossible to be in two places at once. So, as often as I am able,  I choose ‘here and now’.

My journey continues.
